Brief on The Study Tour to Ekiti State Education Trust Fund

In continuation of the Study Tour to some selected states of the federation to understudy the operational guidelines, efficiency and efficacy as well as the organizational structure, programmes, activities and intervention of Education Trust Fund to educational advancement, a high powered delegation from Nasarawa State under the office of the SA to the Governor on Education, Hon. Abubakar Idris Adamu embarked on a three(3) -Day Visit to Ekiti State Education Trust Fund to learn the nitty gritty involved in the success story of the Trust Fund.

The three(3)-day tour which commenced on Sunday, 29th June and concluded today being Tuesday, 1st July, 2025 provided the team the opportunity to cross fertilize ideas, compare notes and undertake a decisive result-driven engagement with notable stakeholders in the education sector in Ekiti state.

The key stakeholders that the delegation had a robust interface with includes the following;

1) Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education

2) Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Ekiti State House of Assembly

3) The Head of Service, Ekiti State Government

4) The Acting Chairman, Board members as well as the Executive Secretary and management of Ekiti State Education Trust Fund

5) The Chairman and the Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Board of Vocational and Technical Education

6) The Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Scholarship Board

7) The Executive Secretary, Ekiti State Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education

8) Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy

In addition, the delegation visited some selected institutions and places of interest and intervention. Notably amongst them includes,

a) Government Technical College, Ado Ekiti

b) Government Technical College, Igbara Odo

c) Ayo Fasanmi Model College, Ado Ekiti

d) Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort and Conference Center

At the end of the tour, the delegation acquired invaluable and requisite knowledge that will assist in setting up the Nasarawa State Education Trust Fund.

Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa state for the tremendous support and encouragement from the beginning of our journey to Bayelsa, Borno and Ekiti States.
